San Francisco: MarketBar
4th of July meant no work and more time to play. AF, T, and I started off the day by having breakfast at MarketBar:
I forgot to take a picture until after we left and were ready to cross the street, hence the really lame photo. If you look beyond the pedestrians, you can see the outside dining area where we were seated. It was pretty warm outside, so we requested to sit in the shade. BIG MISTAKE. We were freezing in no time. Oh, San Francisco, why do you like to play with our minds?
Because it was a holiday, we were given the weekend brunch menu despite it being a Monday. The three of us split the smoked salmon bruschetta with goat cheese, red onion, and capers:
And the porcini mushroom, spring onion, and gruyere omelette:
It came with roasted potatoes and toast.
As well as the griddled buttermilk pancakes with bacon:
Overall, food was good, but I wasn't impressed. Especially given the prices. I've definitely had better brunch for less.
After we left MarketBar, we spent a few hours shopping around Union Square before T had to leave. Despite it being a holiday, there was a parking ticket on T's windshield when we got back to her car. $65! Isn't street parking supposed to be free on holidays? AF and I spent the rest of the day checking out other parking meters, but were unable to find anyone that had paid for parking. What the hell?
