Taiwan: Liang Tong Ban
It was so hot last Friday that I honestly didn't feel like eating anything for lunch. My coworker convinced me to stop by Liang Tong Ban ("2.5 buckets"):
Liang Tong Ban specializes in mi tai mu, which is an icy dessert:
The ingredients are very simple, actually. There's shaved ice, green bean, and brown sugar syrup. But what makes it a mi tai mu is the rice noodle:
Altogether, mi tai mu makes for a filling meal on days when it's too hot to even contemplate eating. The only sweetness comes from the brown sugar, so be careful. Once the ice melts the flavor can get really watered down.
