Korea: 7-11

Before you all start judging me for going to 7-11 in Korea, you have to know that 7-11's in Asia are AWESOME.  Snacks, ice cream, cold beverages as far as the eye can see...what's not to love?

7-11's are vital to survival, even more so in Korea than in Taiwan.  Unlike in Taiwan, where milk tea and juice stands litter the street and offer cheap refreshment options, the beverage scene in Korea leans more toward the coffee variety and tend to be a bit more expensive.  This is where 7-11's come in.  While the selection isn't nearly as great as in Taiwan, Korean 7-11s are still an ideal place to stop and grab a quick drink on a hot day.

And boy, was it hot the day we walked around Bukchon Village and Gyeongbok Palace.  By the time we left, I was dying for a cold drink and some ice cream.  Luckily, there was a 7-11 inside the metro station stop:

CK got an ice cream bar:

Crispy crunch (whatever that means) and sweet strawberry:

I, on the other hand, couldn't resist getting both a drink and an ice cream bar:

CK recommended that I try Milkis.  Milkis essentially tastes like carbonated yakult.  (If you've never had it before, google it.)  Not the most thirst-quenching of drinks, but still pretty tasty.

And check out my Melona ice cream bar:

Mmm....melon flavored.

I love Asian 7-11's.  If only 7-11's in the States could be as cool.
