Cambodia: Smile

Our minibus ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh took much, much longer than we anticipated.  Instead of getting up to Phnom Penh with enough time to explore the city, we arrived after dark.  We were picked up and taken to our hotel, the Lux Riverside Hotel.

CK and I were supposed to find somewhere to eat dinner at, but we were too tired and too unfamiliar with the area to make a decision.  Instead, we found a Smile convenience store and got ourselves some drinks and some instant noodles.  To avoid getting riel (Cambodian currency) back, we tried to get as close to the nearest dollar as possible.

Hence, the Thai seaweed snacks along with two beverages, pineapple juice and 100Plus (which tasted like carbonated energy drink):

The Thai seaweed snacks are like crack.  Seriously.  The creator of Tao Kae Noi ("Little Boss") is a genius and now a billionaire in Thailand.  The seaweed strips are fried and delicious.  AG's cousin was the one who introduced it to us.  Bless her.  I wish I bought more to bring back to the States.

We went kind of overboard with the instant noodles:

I bought the Mama pa lo duck flavor because it looked like it would be the least spicy of all the Mama flavors.  Boy, was I wrong.  I quickly gave up on it and switched over to the "oriental" noodles.  They weren't exactly memorable.

Pooped, we went to bed soon after.  An entire day, gone like that.
