South Bay: OD's Kitchen

My cousin from Taiwan came to visit for two months back over the winter.  She's a big fan of diners, so we took her to one in Gilroy when we went to visit CK in south, south, south San Jose:

We'd never heard of OD's Kitchen before, but it seemed quite popular with the locals.  Despite the rainy weather, the place was decently packed:

We let my cousin order her own thing.  CK, Abby, and myself, however, split a few plates as we typically do.  We got the Kitchen Sink ($9.29):

Aptly named, the Kitchen Sink consisted of fried potatoes, diced ham, bell peppers, onions, and cheese.  It came topped with two eggs and accompanied by a side of bread.  We went with the English muffin, as you can see above.

We also got the pancake combo ($7.99):

The two super fluffy pancakes came with two pieces of bacon and one egg.

That should have been enough, but we never know when to stop.  Which is how we ended up with an order of biscuits and gravy ($5.49) as well:

Omygawd.  That gravy tho.

One word sums up OD's Kitchen in my opinion and that's "solid."  It's a solid diner with huge portions, cheap prices, and solid food.  If it weren't so far south, I would go whenever I'm craving a solid breakfast without any gratuitous fluff.

My cousin certainly enjoyed it.  She discovered Chalula at OD's Kitchen and she was such a fan that we bought her a pack for Christmas.
