San Diego: Donut Bar
After we dropped Abby off at her residency interview, T, CV, and I immediately went out in search for food. We started off with the Donut Bar in downtown San Diego:
There was quite an array of donuts to choose from:
We ultimately went with the blood orange ($3), the spiced chai ($3), and the Oh My Birthday Cake oreo (typically $2, but free with Yelp check in):
Given the size of the blood orange donut, we really didn't want another one. But free is free and how could we say no to a donut with an actual Oreo inside?:
Alas, the donuts at Donut Bar were much more impressive look-wise than taste-wise. All glam and not much substance. The donuts were just...alright. Ultimately, we left rather underwhelmed.
Did we do it wrong? Did we order the wrong donuts? We'll probably never find out as I doubt we'll ever be back.
