Berkeley: The Italian Homemade Company

For my father's birthday, Abby and I went up to the North Face Outlet in Berkeley to get his gift.  Mission accomplished, we turned our attention to a much more interesting dilemma: what to eat for lunch.

Abby somehow found The Italian Homemade Company:

Part restaurant, part deli, and part grocery market, The Italian Homemade Company has just about all of your Italian cravings:

What's great about The Italian Homemade Company is that they have a variety of fresh pastas, which you can then pair with whatever sauce you wish.  We went with maximum sauce-carrying potential and got the pappardelle ($9) with bolognese sauce (+$2):

We also ordered the gnocchi ($10) with pesto (+$2):

We both really enjoyed the pappardelle, but the pesto sauce on the gnocchi was a tad bland for our tastes.

If you like fresh pasta, The Italian Homemade Company is definitely for you.  There are just so many pasta/sauce permutations possible that you will never get bored.  And if pasta isn't your thing, they offer an array of sandwiches and salads as well.

Go check them out!
