South Bay: MOD Pizza

Back in October, my family finally made the leap to remodel our upstairs from carpet to laminate flooring.  This required us to clear out our bedrooms and in the process, revealed how much junk we have collected over the years.  With our garage filled with boxes and our downstairs essentially a construction prep zone, there was no way we were cooking.

On the way home from work, I swung by MOD pizza by our house to pick up some dinner:

It seems like these types of build-your-own-pizza joints are just springing up everywhere lately:

At MOD, you can get a regular pizza for $8.47.  You can certainly order off of the pre-designed menu, but what's the fun in that?  By building your own, you can choose exactly what you want on your pizza.  The selection seems endless:

Which is how you might accidentally overdo it:

I went with a pesto base and then loaded it with mozzarella, grilled chicken, sausage, salami, tomatoes, garlic, corn, red peppers, and mushrooms.  I finished it off with a drizzle of balsamic fig glaze.  There was so much stuff that it was difficult to lift the slice without everything just sliding off.

I guess you can have too much of a good thing.  My mother and I could barely finish it together.

Super affordable, super fast, MOD Pizza is a good place to go when you don't feel like cooking.  Especially if you cannot reach your kitchen without having to climb over boxes and furniture shoved together into an obstacle course.

For those of you who care about comparisons, a pizza at MOD costs 50 cents more than at Blaze, but I think they're a bit more generous with the toppings.  Both are good, so just go with the one more conveniently located to you.
