Taiwan: JLD Dragon
Completely coincidentally, we came across a grand opening of JLD Dragon in Taipei. Without even knowing what JLD Dragon was, we saw a line...and we got into it. The line moved pretty quickly, which didn't give us much time to look at the menu before it was our turn to order:
We noticed that there was a lot of interesting looking bread, but because we were on our way to the night market and stomach space is precious, we had to pass:
Instead, we got their signature drink, the brown sugar pearl "thick" milk:
Apparently what makes the milk thick is the added layer of cream on top. It certainly looks very appealing, but the drink itself was just okay. Good, but not mind blowing-ly great. Not sure if the cream really added anything. The pearls were legit though.
As was the free bread we got as part of the opening special:
Super soft. So much for saving stomach space. Sigh.
