Sonoma County: Spud Point Crab Co

On the last day of our staycation, we took the long way home by first taking a detour west to Bodega Bay.  We did an easy two-mile hike at Bodega Head before heading to Spud Point Crab Co for some grub:

There's no seating inside, just a counter where you place your order and pick up your food:

Considering that this pitstop was just supposed to be a snack, the four of us split a sandwich and two chowders.  The crab sandwich ($11.95) was chock-full of large chunks of crab:

No extra fillers, which I greatly appreciated.  Just crab, lightly dressed, on a toasted bun.

We got both the red chowder ($6.75):

And the white chowder ($6.75):

Personally, I always enjoy white chowder more than red.  Creamy soups are just more my thing.  It was no different at Spud Point Crab Co, though the red chowder was still delicious.  So much so that I didn't mind too much when my mother hogged the white chowder.

Spud Point Crab Co isn't exactly a food spot that you plan an entire trip around, however if you're in the area, you would be silly not to stop by.
