Sonoma County: Fishetarian Fish Market

We capped of our August staycation with a last snack stop at Fishetarian Fish Market:

There were quite a few people there, but the line went quickly:

Armed with our buzzer, we sat down at a table outside to wait.

One thing we didn't have to wait for though, was the clam chowder.  Thanks to my sister checking in on Yelp, we got a complimentary cup:

We weren't about to turn down a free chowder.  (Despite just having chowder not 30 minutes prior at Spud Point Crab Co.)  It was pretty decent chowder to boot.  Apparently it's award-winning.

The fried calamari ($13.99) was simply gorgeous:

I always appreciate when calamari comes with the tentacles and not just the rings.  We could have gone with regular fries or kale-slaw, but we got the sweet potato fries instead because we had zero interest in the slaw and already had regular fries with our fried prawns and fish ($16.99):

The combo came with two pieces of rock cod and three prawns.  Just look at those prawns!  They were freakin' humongous and oh-so-juicy.

The house-made sauces were plentiful and self-serve:

We got a bit of each because that's how we roll.  There was tartar sauce, chipotle aioli, Maui Wowie (some kind of tangy Asian-ish concoction), and ketchup.  My favorite was the chipotle aioli.

Overall, Fishetarian is a solid seafood joint.  The food is fresh, fresh, fresh and fried to crispy perfection.  Get the prawns.  The fish is alright, but the prawns are awesome.
