Los Angeles: Ozero Tea & Desserts

Over Fourth of July weekend, CL, T, my sister, and I made a trip down to SoCal.  We set our GPS to Jitlada and headed out onto the road bright and early that Friday morning.  We timed it perfectly.  We arrived at Jitlada right in time for lunch and gorged ourselves on mussels, whole fish, rice salad, and more.

For dessert, we stopped by Ozero in Little Tokyo:

Lots of space to sit both outside and in:

We originally wanted to try their brick toast, but were devastated when we were told that they'd sold out.  Wut.

Instead, we had to settle for a roasted oolong tea float ($4) and a sea salt Assam black tea ($4.50) with pearls:

For the tea float, we got to choose between vanilla and matcha ice cream.  We obviously went with the matcha.  I've always found oolong tea strange with milk.

It was even weirder with ice cream.

As for the sea salt Assam black tea, I couldn't really taste the sea salt.  Heck, I couldn't really taste the tea either.  What the hell?

We all left Ozone supremely disappointed.

And yes, the "supremely" is definitely warranted.
