South Bay: Dish n Dash

Anyone who loves food in the South Bay knows of Dishdash.  I've been to the Dishdash in Sunnyvale and the Dishdash in Milpitas, but I didn't make it to Dish n Dash, Dishdash's casual cousin, until recently:

Unlike Dishdash, where you wait to be seated and have your order taken by a server, at Dish n Dash, you head directly to the counter, order what you want, and then find your own seat.  Located in the midst of multiple large company campuses, lunch at Dish n Dash is a crazy affair on weekdays.  On the weekends though, it's much quieter:

What's awesome about Dish n Dash is that it offers all the dishes we know and love from Dishdash...but CHEAPER.  (Okay, just slightly cheaper, but hey, no service means no tip necessary!)  And the portion sizes are the same too.

CK, Abby, and I split a few of our favorites.  We got the veggie delight ($13):

This loaded platter came with falafel, hummus, tabouli, baba ganoush, and mnazaleh.

My personal favorite alternates between the beriani dajaj ($17):

And the mansaf ($19):

The chicken, potatoes, and garbanzo beans in the beriani dajaj aren't nearly as important as the yogurt sauce.  With the sweetness of the raisins, the sauce is magic with rice.  We got freekeh on our visit because CK wanted to try it, but I won't make that mistake again.

Yea, yea, freekeh is a healthy grain, but who cares?  Rice tastes better.

The yogurt sauce in the mansaf is just as delicious, but much more savory with all that lamb buried in the rice.

What can I say?  I'm a fan.  Both of the food and the chance to pay (slightly) less.
