Chicago: Miko's Italian Ice

When CK told me about an international McDonald's in Chicago that offers options only available abroad, I was super excited.  But when we arrived only to find choices like the Mighty Angus Burger from Canada and the McSpicy Chicken Sandwich from Hong Kong, we turned around and walked right back out again.

Yawn...

Where's the burgers from India?  From Japan?  In the selection process, why did they choose the most boring things possible?  Too afraid the American palate wouldn't be able to handle anything more interesting?

These questions followed us as we made our way over to PQM for lunch and then to Miko's Italian Ice for dessert:

With temperatures at almost 90 degrees, the Italian ice was much appreciated.  Not just by us, as evidenced by the line there.

We each got our own cup because there was no way in hell we were going to share.  The medium ($4.50) allowed us to pick two flavors:

CK got watermelon and lemon.  My sister went with mango and raspberry, while I chose lime and pineapple.

I've had Italian ice a few times now and in my humble opinion, Miko's is the smoothest.  Almost...creamy?  It's freakin' delicious.  You can really taste the fruit.  No artificial crap here.

And on a hot day?  It's perfection.
