Costa Rica: Cabinas Eddy B&B
While we were in Monteverde, Abby and I stayed at Cabinas Eddy B&B:
The bananas were caramelized and super lovely in the huge fluffy pancake.
The cost was also super cheap. The two of us paid around $36 a night. Not per person. In total. Yeah.
Breakfast was included with the room, so of course we took full advantage of that. Every breakfast started with a plate of fresh fruit:
I would give Abby my papaya and she would pass over her pineapple.
During our stay, there were three options for breakfast. If you wanted a traditional Costa Rican breakfast, you could ask for gallo pinto:
It's impossible to go to Costa Rica and not come across gallo pinto. Essentially rice and beans, gallo pinto typically comes with fried plantains, grilled cheese (squeaky cheese, as I like it call it), and eggs.
If rice and beans are too much for you at the start of the day, you could go the eggs and toast route:
Or if your sweet tooth is acting up, you could get a banana pancake:
Everything was made fresh to order by the owner and his wife, who were both extremely kind. Coffee and juice were unlimited and self-service.
When we travel, we don't tend to spend a lot of time in the hotel or Airbnb, so Abby and I don't look for anything fancy in terms of lodging. As long as the place is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, we're happy campers.
Cabinas Eddy B&B was all of that and then some. Not only was breakfast hearty and delicious, the overall atmosphere was quiet and homey.
We even got to hang out with the family pet:
If you're planning a trip to Monteverde, I highly recommend you stay at Cabinas Eddy!
