SF Peninsula: Hidden Spot
We'd just finished our bakery run in San Francisco and were debating what to get for lunch on the way back to the South Bay. AG did his Yelp thing and somehow pulled up Hidden Spot. He called ahead, placed our order, and then away we went to South San Francisco.
The pick up process was super easy and before we knew it, we were back at AG's house with our wings. The wings at Hidden Spot were $8 for five pieces or $12 for ten pieces. There were a few different flavors to choose from. We went with lemon pepper:
Honey garlic butter:
And MVP glaze:
All the wings were big, crunchy, and well seasoned. We couldn't really decide on a favorite. The lemon pepper was nicely lemon-y while the honey garlic butter was just sweet enough. The MVP glaze was this sweet soy glaze that wasn't nearly as spicy as the chili peppers made it look.
Because we could never just order wings, we also got some onion rings ($6):
And some tater tots ($5):
Hidden Spot also has an extensive sandwich and burger menu. We really didn't need a sandwich, but because we were curious, we ordered a gem on Dutch crunch ($10):
It came loaded with Philly steak, muenster cheese, provolone, grilled mushroom, and grilled red onions. Really juicy, really savory, and overall a lovely sandwich. I would definitely order that again.
If I lived in South San Francisco, I could totally see myself hitting up Hidden Spot whenever the craving for wings hits. Not only is the food good, the service is also great. We found a note on one of our wing boxes saying that they threw in a couple extra because they made too many. I don't know if they do this for all their customers, but we certainly appreciated it!
Hidden Spot is too good to be hidden away, so go check them out!
