Korea: Bukchon Kalguksu

I really wanted to explore Bukchon Village and CK really wanted to introduce us to kalguksu.  Aaaaand what do you know?  There's a famous kalguksu restaurant in Bukchon.  Coincidence?  Or FATE?:

Ignore the coffee and chocolate sign.  That's for the cafe next door.

There was a little bit of a wait, but it wasn't too bad.  Before we knew it, we were inside testing out their kimchi:

As a starter, we ordered the jumbo mandu (dumplings):

I'm not usually a big fan of Korean mandu.  The filling is a bit mushy to me, all noodles and tofu and not MEATY like Chinese dumplings.  However, these were the best mandu I've ever had the pleasure of eating.  And so damn HUGE too.

The whole point of the trip was to try kalguksu or knife-cut noodles:

That's right.  All the noodles in that bowl were cut by hand.

Super Q noodles:

The soup was flavorful and the noodles had just the right amount of chew to them.

Another great meal in Seoul!
