South Bay: Margaritas Taqueria

While UK was living in Sunnyvale, he and Abby discovered a taco truck located in the parking lot of a liquor store:

Abby talked about Margaritas Taqueria so much that it was a relief when she finally took T and me there.

We ordered five tacos to start ($2.50 each).  In the interest of trying different meats, we got one tripas (intestine), one lengua (tongue), one cabeza (head meat), suadero (hip meat), and birria (stewed beef):

We quickly learned that the orange sauce is fire.  As in VERY SPICY.  My favorite taco meats are usually tripas or lengua.  At Margaritas however, the cabeza stole the show.  So soft, so tender, so juicy...I don't think I've ever had cabeza that good before.  The suadero was a close second.

We liked the cabeza and the suadero so much that we went back and ordered more.

There was a gentleman working in the truck that was super friendly.  He came out and brought us complimentary chips and salsa:

As well as some pickled onions:

I'm slowly but surely compiling a meat-specific taco list for the Bay Area.  For now, Margaritas Taqueria is my go-to for cabeza.  This is not to say that the other meats weren't good.  Oh, not at all.  Everything was delicious.  But the cabeza was by far the most memorable.

Definitely stop by and let me know if you agree!
