Thailand: Lek & Rut Seafood
We took a break after touring palaces in Bangkok to shower and nap. But before we could even finish digesting lunch, AG's uncle's friend and his wife were knocking at our door, ready to take us out for dinner.
We ended up in Chinatown at Lek & Rut Seafood:
It was a bit hectic outside, so we were directed inside, which was much quieter:
By then we were used to having tom yum kung (shrimp) at every meal:
No matter how many tom yum kungs we had in Thailand, we never got sick of it. Each one was slightly different, but all were freakin' delicious.
AG's uncle's friend did all of the ordering. We just sat back and let it happen. First there was a fried fish:
Then crab fried rice:
Crab curry:
Cockles (which were tough and generally difficult to eat):
And mussels:
Despite being totally stuffed, we couldn't resist getting coconut ice cream with ginko nuts for dessert:
I mean, really. Look at it. It's gorgeous. And oh so good. I kinda ate around the gingko nuts, but the ice cream was superb. The coconut shell was a definite bonus.
CK just left for Chicago today. Now that she's gone, hopefully this means that I'll be able to pump out some more posts before work starts for me next week. We shall see.
