Tri-City: Super Cue Cafe (Revisited)

We celebrated my mother's birthday by having dinner at General Pot.  We figured we would finish off the night with some pearl tea from Super Cue a few doors down as per our usual tradition.  To our surprise, Super Cue had undergone some serious rebranding since the last time we visited:

The entire store got a modern facelift:

To our dismay, even the menu was completely revamped.  The iced milk series that we loved so much was gone without a trace.  In its place was a list of unfamiliar signature drinks.  Each one sounded weirder than the next.  The avocado smoothie came blended with caramel pudding.  The strawberry banana smoothie came mixed with oatmeal.

We got the taro twister and the matcha milkyway ($4.99 each):

The taro smoothie was swirled with a rose sea salt crema while the matcha smoothie sat on a layer of milk.  (Pearls were an extra $0.50.)  While the drinks were pretty and certainly Instagram-able, they weren't as pleasant on the taste buds.  The taro was just too artificial and potpourri-ish for me.

Not a fan of new menu.  Not a fan of the increased prices.

Just no.

Er...I mean, no, thank you.  I won't be going back.
