Taiwan: Teishoku 8

I parted ways with AF at the airport in Hong Kong.  The flight change I made while in Thailand resulted in a 14-hour layover in Taiwan.  This allowed me just enough time to visit both sets of grandparents.

For dinner, my maternal grandparents brought me to Teishoku 8:

Apparently my grandparents go so often that the hostess knows them and is on friendly terms with my uncle.  Not an easy feat given how popular the place seems to be:

Teishoku 8 offers - you guessed it - eight meal sets.  You can choose from tonkatsu stuffed with cheese to tempura to udon.  I went with the sashimi bowl:

All sets come with all you can drink miso soup, all you can eat rice, a dish of greens, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and a dessert (some kind of pudding).

Not a bad deal for 180 NT (around $6).  No wonder my grandparents like it so much.

My Taiwan layover was the perfect end to my SE Asia trip.  It was quite an adventure, one that I'm sure CL, T, AF, and I will be reminiscing about for years to come.

Now that I'm finally done posting about my trip, I have to catch up on all the places I've been to in the three months since I returned home.  Ugh...will I ever catch up?
