Oakland: Classic Burger

One of AG's discoveries up in the East Bay is Classic Burger.  Located in a random strip mall in the middle of seemingly nothing, Classic Burger appears unassuming from the outside:

Walking inside feels like taking a step back in time to the days of old mom and pop burger shops:

Complete with gumball machines and a vintage menu board:

Classic Burger's signature burger, the classic burger (of course), comes with pastrami and cheese.  Now, I'm not a big pastrami person.  So I usually just order the cheeseburger ($5.49):

It comes with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions.

Ordering the cheeseburger combo ($10.09) only really saves you 28 cents, but a quarter is a quarter, so why not?

The combo comes with a side of fries:

And a medium fountain drink.

If fries aren't your thing, you can get onion rings ($3.79) instead:

And if you're looking to really treat yourself, why not get a milkshake ($4.39)?

Will Classic Burger be the best burger you'll ever have?  Probably not.  But it's a solid burger joint.  Prices are fair, portions are generous, and the service is quick.  Plus, it appears to be family owned, which is always a bonus in my book.

No frills.  No gimmicks.  Just the way I like my burgers.

Classic.
