Boston: Otto Pizza
On our last day in Boston, my sister and I took a little turn around Harvard University. We had a great time just walking around, enjoying the weather...and nitpicking at every little thing. Oh, no. We're not bitter about being rejected by Harvard. Not at all.
All disgruntlement aside, we both had to admit that Harvard has a great thing going for it with Otto located just across the street from campus:
There are a lot of different pizzas to choose from, but if you're looking to get a slice, what you get is kind of based on luck and what pizzas are sitting out on the rack at the time:
After making your pick, Otto pops it back in the oven for a quick toast so that when it reaches your mouth, the pizza is hot and crisp. So good.
We tried the baby spinach, chicken, and asiago:
And the apple, bacon, and red onion:
Both were fantastic, but I think I like the apple and bacon one a tad more. The sweetness of the apple and the red onion really set my taste buds into a happy frenzy.
If I'd gone to Harvard *achem* I would definitely have been at Otto's door, trying every single pizza. There's a pulled pork and mango one that I'm dying to get my hands on. As well as a mashed potato, bacon, and scallion one. Woo, baby!
But alas, I guess I'll have to wait until my next Boston trip.
Or hit up Portland, where apparently Otto originated from.

Otto in Portland is great Amy! You must go for Maine food adventures too.
ReplyDeleteHey, great post. OTTO Pizza's opening a shop in Coolidge Corner, too, in May. If you're ever in Brookline, check it out ... and you gotta try the Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion. It's incredible.
